Google Explains Why Donald Trump Appears When You Google “Idiot”

The US Congress has asked Google CEO Sundar Pichai to explain a problem with the search engine. Indeed, the American authorities noticed that an image search with the keyword “idiot” displayed the photo of President Donald Trump as a result.

This situation prompted Congress to consider whether this is a case of intentional bias on the part of Google. Moreover, Donald Trump is not the first president to have been bombed by Google. In the year 2000, George W. Bush was also a victim of the same circumstance.

In order to justify Google’s mistake to Congress, Pichai explained in detail how the search engine works. According to him, when users type a keyword in the search bar, Google starts searching for information about that keyword in billions of websites. The search engine selects more than 200 suggestions based on the relevance, popularity, and frequency of use of the keyword on the web. Even if Pichai did not directly affirm it, this circumstance would be due to a massive use of the term “idiot” by Internet users to describe the American president Donald Trump.
